Let’s Not Play This Game Anymore

Monopoly board with added text: Let's play Monopoly with 10 people. One person already owns 90% of the money and real estate and has access to borrow money from the bank whenever they want. The other 9 have to share the remaining 10%. And if you don't like it you hate America and are a Communist. That's our current system.

Imagine a game of Monopoly with your family where you all just keep playing until death. At a certain point someone would have most if not all the money and everyone else would keep rolling and getting into debt. It would only really be fun for the person winning, to a point. Is that not the way the system basically works? It’s only fun when everyone has a chance, but of course if the guy winning is the only one who can decide to restart the game it probably never will. The difference is instead of your family and friends playing this game it’s the whole country/world so it’s taking a little longer, but the same concept seems to be at play.

Monopoly board with the text from a tweet from @JohnnyAkzam: Reminder: Monopoly ends when no one can afford to live on the board anymore. At that point, everything becomes worthless. The money means nothing. The hotels sit abandoned. The only thing left is to restart the do it again. It's unsustainable. It's what we're doing.

As a kid I played Monopoly and did enjoy the game with my friends. But Monopoly in the real world is destructive for all.
